Stiff Boom Cranes
BPP has supplied a Stiff boom Crane to Medco Energies, in Terubuk. (See yellow crane)
The offshore deck crane model CHCD 6-25 designed for the loading, unloading and movement of cargo, stores and ammunition. The crane is also designed to support Replenishment At Sea (RAS) for supply of Diesel (F76) and Fresh Water to smaller vessels utilizing a ‘crane rig’.
The deck crane is designed in accordance to LR LAME Code andBS EN 13852 requirements for lifting of personnel.
The crane is capable of:
• Lifting and moving palletised stores
• General storing duties
• Lifting and moving of ammunition
• Crane Rig duties for liquid replenishment at sea.
The deck crane is approved by LR for lifting a minimum of 6 tons (cargo) and 2 tons (ammunition) from the dock side at an outreach up to 25 m. The deck crane is heave compensated (Active rope tensioning system) such that it is capable of lifting a minimum of 2 tons from other vessels (including barges) in conditions up to and including sea state 4 (considering a maximum speed of 100 m/min).
